Hi. The racing season is fast approaching. Pedro, Barnaby, Adam and others have already started and a load of us will be doing the Hainault Hilly next Sunday, so I need to put in a hard effort tomorrow. Therefore, if we are going to have more than one fast group, I'll be going with the faster one and somebody else will have to 'volunteer' to lead the not-quite-so-fast group.
I've updated a route that we've used a couple of times before - made it a bit longer so we avoid some of the Epping New Road on the way out, and so we can swing by High Beach to see if there's anyone to pick up there, and so we can avoid the urban jungle of Epping on the way north.

That's about 56 miles starting and finishing at Waltham Forest Town Hall. Depending on who's up for it, there are potentially 11 sprints on this route: 1) the end of the motorway bridge over the M11, 2) Matching Tye sign, 3) Matching Green sign, 4) Hatfield Heath sign, 5) Sheering sign, 6) Harlow sign, 7) M11 bridge again, 8) Moreton sign, 9) Toot Hill sign, 10) Theydon Bois sign, 11) two '40' signs on either side of the road at the top of Coppice Row.

This is about 48 miles (also starting and finishing at the town hall), but turns back once you reach Matching Green (so doesn't do the loop up to Hatfield Heath and back to Old Harlow via Sheering). If there is a second fast group, they might prefer to do this one? Then the second group on the road could end up ahead of the first group on the road and we might end up merging again at some point (which would a wonderful heartwarming social occasion).
